The EU Partnership SFS in International Context

At the FOOD2030 Conference on Resilience and Green in December 2023 in Brussels, Hugo de Vries, the coordinator of FOODPathS, delivered a presentation on the importance of international partnerships in shaping sustainable food systems. He emphasized the European Partnership on Sustainable Food Systems (SFS), with the FOODPathS project leading the creation of its prototype.

By utilizing the combined strength of public, private, philanthropic, and academic networks, FOODPathS aims to enhance the understanding of the trade-offs and co-benefits associated with different approaches to food systems. The project is working towards meaningful change through global and local collaboration, utilizing case studies, mirror groups, and shared best practices.

De Vries stressed that sustainability is not solely Europe’s responsibility. He highlighted the need for international cooperation to ensure that global participants are engaged in this conversation.
