This year’s IUFoST brought together global experts in food science to discuss the pressing challenges of today’s food systems, focusing on sustainable solutions for the future.

During the event, FOODPathS partners from FoodDrinkEurope and Confagricoltura showcased their contributions. Lorenza Lirosi from FoodDrinkEurope delivered a presentation highlighting the work of FOODPathS project, with a particular focus on Work Package 4 which is dedicated to fostering collaboration between public and private actors through living labs. She emphasized the crucial role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in transforming food systems and provided concrete examples of successful collaborations within living labs that are tackling sustainability challenges head-on.

In addition, Hugo De Vries, coordinator of FOODPathS, delivered a keynote speech during one of the Plenary Sessions “EU Strategy on Sustainable Food Systems.” His speech further established FOODPathS’ contribution to shaping the future of food systems in Europe.

Throughout the event, FOODPathS leaflets were distributed to raise awareness about the project’s mission, activities and ongoing efforts to support sustainable food systems.

The presence of FOODPathS at IUFoST 2024 underscored the project’s commitment to collaboration, innovation, and finding solutions to ensure a sustainable future for food systems across Europe.
