This course provides an analysis of current food systems by examining the various aspects and stakeholders involved. It encourages a critical evaluation of the different elements that constitute today’s food systems and highlights the challenges we face in the pursuit of a sustainable and resilient food system.
Throughout the course modules, you will explore:
- The complex challenges and key factors that have shaped current food systems, along with their impact on planetary and human health.
- The differences between food security and food sovereignty.
- The concept of the nutrition transition.
- Solutions for creating more sustainable food systems, with a special focus on alternative food systems and the potential of agroecology.
This course will showcase concrete examples, initiatives, and programs from various parts of the world to illustrate the theoretical concepts discussed.
