The Stakeholder Manifesto on ‘Sustainable Supply Chains and Strengthened Local Processing of Bioresources in Central and Eastern Europe’ highlights the need for collective action to secure healthy soils, freshwater, food system security, and modern biomanufacturing. The manifesto stresses that achieving this vision requires cooperation from all sectors across Europe.

A key message of the manifesto is the call to enhance local knowledge about environmentally friendly technologies. It emphasizes the importance of involving stakeholders from the Central and Eastern European (CEE) macro-region in the efforts for research, innovation, and sustainable solutions. The manifesto also urges public investment in joint research and innovation partnerships, aiming to unlock the region’s potential to sustainable practices.

The manifesto is recommending the policymakers to prioritize the intersection of soil, freshwater, food systems, and biomanufacturing to build a sustainable future for the CEE region and Europe as a whole.

BIOEAST Initiative, which is part of the FOODPathS networks, is inviting individuals and organizations—whether from CEE or beyond—to sign the manifesto and support this movement toward a greener future.
