FutureFoodS’ pre-announcement for funding and a brand-new website
FutureFoodS (European Partnership on Sustainable Food Systems) has launched its official website and pre-announced its first call for funding. Find more details below.
The FutureFoodS Partnership (launched in June 2024) aims to secure a sustainable and resilient food future for Europe through research and innovation. The partnership unites experts from 29 EU countries to address climate change, biodiversity, and food security. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of food production, improve public health, and ensure the economic stability of the food supply chains from farm to fork.
A Call for Change
To address above mentioned objectives, FutureFoodS will launch calls for funding: the first call has just been launched. It will consist of 3 topics:
- The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems – Reshaping food system interactions
- New foods – Fostering innovations in food design, processing, and supply via demand and supply reorientation
- Empowering sustainable food choices – Enabling environments and dietary shifts
Deadline for Pre-Proposal Submission is 15 January 2025. All the other details about the first call is available here.
FutureFoodS will continue opening calls over the next decade to support transnational research projects aimed at transforming food systems at national, European and global levels.
Over the past two years, FOODPathS has been laying the groundwork for the FutureFoodS partnership and creating the right environment for this European initiative to grow and address key issues within food systems.
