FOODPathS Webinar: “How can education support a sustainable and healthy food system?”
What strategies can educational institutions use to support and facilitate the transition to sustainable and healthy food systems? This question will be the focus of the upcoming FOODPathS webinar, scheduled for October 22nd at 3 pm CEST.
Organised in collaboration with JPI HDHL, this webinar focused on the important role that current higher education systems play in transforming food systems to be more sustainable and healthier.
After the introduction made by Katherine Flynn (ISEKI Food), Gabriéla Versteeg from EFFoST presented the work done by FOODPathS project on establishing a network of university-driven local food ecosystems. Following this, Eduardo Urias from VU Amsterdam presented the CLEVERFOOD project’s work focusing on establishing a network to collaborate on transforming higher education teaching. You can download the presentations at the end of this page.
Additionally, a panel discussion was held, featuring perspectives from policy (Francesca Felici, FAO), industry (Maarten van der Kamp, EIT Food), higher education institutions (Marjan de Boer, Aeres University of Applied Sciences), and students (Egi Kolay & Ines Teixeira Duarte, ENDietS). The discussion aimed to identify further innovations needed to create better educational systems that meet the needs of food systems transformation. The insights from this webinar will contribute to the European Partnership for Sustainable Food Systems (FutureFoodS), particularly in advancing educational innovation for sustainable food systems.
