High-level workshop: ‘Understanding system shocks in European food systems’
How can we build a resilient European food system? This is the central question of the workshop organized by the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI). Join us to explore this topic in a government-level discussion.
This workshop aims to identify key enablers for rethinking the future European food system through the lens of climate change, taking into account the impacts of climate shocks.
The event will be divided into three thematic segments:
- Understanding current climate risks and shocks to the European agri-food system
- Analysing priorities for European agri-food system resilience and security
- Identifying a pathway for a just transition to a climate-resilient European agri-food system
Afternoon Roundtable:
In the afternoon, there will be a roundtable discussion among all of the keynote speakers of the day and other members of the FACCE community around the guiding questions: How can Europe prepare? Policy and research priorities for action.

A high-level of audience is expected of up to 40 participants, including representatives from National Governments, EU institutions, relevant EITs, the JRC, and members from the FACCE-JPI Governing Board, among others.
